Alcatel's first take at a smartphone that runs on Android Go -- a lighter version of Android 8.1 Oreo -- is the Alcatel 1X, a starter-class smartphone whose cons include no more than 1GB of RAM 
, reminding us of some senior-friendly non-smartphones, and a MediaTek MTK6739 quad-core processor clocked at 1.28GHz . Accompanying those hardware components is an IMG 8XE (1PPC) graphics engine running at 450MHz.

Compared to a lot of older entry-level smartphones, the 1X claims to be speedier, since its Android Go ecosystem 
features slimmed-down versions of core Google applications and is specifically tailored to models with its kind of modest hardware specs. This also complements its 2460mAh battery, which boasts reassuring self-attributed scores, such as a 26-hour maximum talk time (1560 minutes) and an almost-23-day standby time .
Android Go's fundamentals-only approach also makes it a solid choice for newbies who are very cautious about storage and data consumption.
