- Analysis by KJ David
Ideally geared towards Android newbies, the Alcatel Ideal's entry-level specs list includes several familiar cons in this category, such as a 1GB-only RAM , a sub-standard selfie camera (2-megapixel) , and a 4.5-inch FWVGA-480p screen . Moreover, it offers no more than 1780mAh of battery power -- obviously a great disadvantage versus most other budget-class models, which have at least 2000mAh of power in tow.
On the flip side, the quad-core-powered (1.1GHz) Ideal comes with an 8GB memory that can be expanded by up to 128GB as well as a 5-megapixel HD-video primary camera with integrated Polaroid software for photo-editing. 4G LTE connectivity and hearing aid compliance (M3/T3) join its pros as well, although these were rather common ones as of its 2016 outing.
In a nutshell, the Alcatel Ideal, with its pros and cons, is not quite the perfect budget smartphone, but it does sound like an ideal purchase for first-time Android users.
