The plain Alcatel Idol 4 may lack the 4S's VR headset packaging and 2K AMOLED screen , but its pros and cons still make the cut for 2016 flagship status.

One of its biggest pros is the specialized BOOM Key , dedicated to enhancing your multimedia experience, with functions like automatic volume adjustment for games and music as well as specific video/photo and display effects. It also takes the previous Idol model's reversibility a level higher , with front-to-back and right-to-left audio reversibility joining its fully-reversible interface this time.

In addition to those trendy specs, the 5.2-inch (Full HD) Idol 4 also delivers a 13-megapixel camera with a dual-tone LED flash , a Snapdragon 617 1.7GHz + 1.2GHz split-eight-core processor with 3GB of RAM , and two 3.6W stereo speakers backed by the Waves audio technology and in-box JBL headphones. It 16GB memory can also be expandable by a whopping 512GB , though we have seen several other phones with 2TB microSD allowances.

The Alcatel Idol 4's 2610mAh battery may be a bit off-putting, hence, a con to some users, but for everything else it packs, this MWC 2016 Alcatel Android lands a seat at the flagship table nonetheless.
