Initially carried by T-Mobile, the Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10 tones down the QHD-1440p display to an FHD-1080p 5.5-inch AMOLED interface and sticks to a 3000mAh battery power , which, though respectable, ends up as a con compared to what several other 2016-released flagships pack.

That being said, this Windows-sporting version enhances the formerly-16-megapixel camera to a 21-megapixel shooter with 4K imaging , while retaining its virtual reality (VR) capability . It also replaces the Android version's eight-core Snapdragon 652 CPU with a flagship Snapdragon 820 quad-core chip running at 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz and bumps the RAM from 3GB up to 4GB .

Like some other Windows flagships, this Idol 4S variant delivers Continuum, which enables PC-like a functionality , and the Cortana personal voice assistant . Joining its pros are an 8-megapixel flash-equipped selfie camera , fingerprint recognition , and dual 1.2W multi-directional speakers . Though its 64GB inbuilt memory is not as premium as we had hoped, this edition's specs come in a rather swanky shell, which is made up of back-to-back glass layers and a Halo Gold metallic frame .

Summing up, the Idol 4S for Windows comes with several tweaks over the original model when it comes to pros and cons, but it retains a similar high-end caliber, for flagship buyers who prefer Microsoft's proprietary Windows OS.
