Alcatel Pixi 3 5.5 Review & Pros And Cons

Picture of the Alcatel Pixi 3 5.5, by Alcatel

- Analysis by KJ David

Even though it is nice to see Miracast (Wi-Fi display) catching on to Alcatel's Android family, the Pixi 3 5.5's niceties seem to end there, as its other pros and cons make it a rather typical mid-tier smartphone.

The phablet-type 5.5-inch screen on this model makes it the largest Pixi 3 variant (as of its release), but we are not quite sure why Alcatel settled for a qHD resolution (960 x 540) when HD or Full HD displays are obviously more favorable. A 2-megapixel frontal sub-cam is also nothing special by MWC 2015 standards, though it does seem like a decent backup for its 8-megapixel main sensor.

Finishing it off is a preloaded Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, which puts it ahead of older Pixi editions.
