Alcatel OneTouch Pop Icon Review of The Pros And Cons

Picture of the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Icon, by Alcatel

- Analysis by KJ David

The Alcatel Pop Icon does not seem to pack anything special. In fact, many of its features remind us of entry-level devices released a couple of years before it. These include a pretty old combination of 5- and 0.3-megapixel cameras -- many other smartphone brands have forgotten VGA cams. Its 4GB internal storage is also quite a letdown, but at least the RAM is at a standard 1GB. Processor-wise, its 1.2GHz quad-core engine sounds pretty decent for its entry-level offering, with a 2000mAh battery to match. Its qHD display resolution barely makes it a passable starter Android. Its lack of special features tell us that the Pop Icon was intended for those who have just made the jump to Android -- or smartphones, for that matter.
