Unveiled during the CES 2016, this largest member of Alcatel's Pixi 4 family rocks a more-than-ample 7-inch display (600 x 1024 pixel resolution), but with several old-fashioned specs (ergo, cons) tagging along.
Among the Pixi 4 (7)'s flaws are a 3G-only network reach (4G LTE could have gone a long way, especially when coupled with its large screen) and a scanty 1GB RAM . Its imaging potential, which is attributed to no more than a sub-standard (by 2016 measures) 2-megapixel camera and a primitive 0.3-megapixel (VGA) selfie cam (yes, apparently this low-key camera still made it to 2016), also outright breaks the deal for us.
The Alcatel Pixi 4 (7) 3G's only pro (apart from its spacious screen) is being one of Alcatel's earliest models to have the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system preinstalled , though we doubt that it makes a significant difference for this basic phablet's disappointing selection of pros and cons.
