Amazon's first smartphone offers not only an interface that presents itself in 3D, but also reacts to simple gestures through the Dynamic Perspective - unlike traditional UIs. The Firefly technology is also quite appealing, even to long time smartphone users. If you ever need help on top of that, you could even abuse the Mayday feature - a 24/7 direct line to customer support. Amazon also answers the question as to whether or not the Fire will be a budget smartphone, as it looks to contend the iPhone5 and 5S with its 13-megapixel OIS camera and 2.2GHz quad-core processor and a dedicated graphics processor as well. The probable downside could be that it does not offer the tried-and-tested Android OS, nor does it have a memory expansion slot. But perhaps Amazon decided to bank mostly on the breakthroughs of this avant-garde product.
