BlackBerry DTEK60 Pros & Cons Review

- Analysis by KJ David

BlackBerry's DTEK60, aka the Argon, may have only 32GB of preloaded memory and a fixed-focus 8-megapixel selfie camera (a few other high-class Androids boast autofocus-enabled front cams), but it nonetheless ends up as a beefed-up version of the slightly-older DTEK50.

First off, it replaces the DTEK50's 1.5GHz eight-core Snapdragon 617 engine with a flagship-class quad-core Snapdragon 820 2.15GHz (max clock rate) chip , while bumping the RAM up from 3GB to 4GB RAM . It also upgrades its sibling's 13-megapixel FHD-video rear camera to a 21-megapixel 4K-video-capable cam and brings back its support for up to 2TB of microSD storage .

On other fronts, the DTEK60 reintroduces the DTEK privacy-monitoring software alongside other signature business-oriented BlackBerry perks like BB Hub and Password Keeper . Its specs also include fingerprint identification this time, which is something that the DTEK50 failed to offer. Also, while the DTEK60's 3000mAh power cap is an improvement over the other model's 2610mAh, we tagged it as a con, considering that several of its competitors boast roughly-4000mAh cells.

Based on its pros and cons, the Android-run BlackBerry DTEK60 caters to business-driven users who are very keen on security, while likely finding itself being compared to most other 2016-released top-notch models.
