BLU's Dash XL, like most other models in this series, targets novice Android users, with specs like a run-of-the-mill 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6580 processor 
and a 1GB-only RAM leading its cons. Moreover, it comes with an HD-only (1280 x 720) display resolution , despite sporting a comparably-wide 5.5-inch BLU Infinite View screen.
A few more of its pros and cons include a 5-megapixel rear-facing primary camera , which does not quite pass our expectations, knowing that several tantamount models tout 8-megapixel cams in comparison. On the contrary, its 5-megapixel selfie camera 
is just what the doctor ordered, at least for a 2016-released budget Android.
Unfortunately, for those who just can't stay offline, the Dash XL only works with 3G-HSPA bands, promising only up to 21Mbps data rates as a consequence. That said, it does have a decent 2500mAh of power in the tank , which is significantly-higher than what a few of its closest relatives pack. Weighing 165 grams, it also scores a favorable mAh-per-gram ratio, one of our very own battery-specific metrics.
Joining its aforementioned pros is an electrolyzed metal framing met by an aluminum battery cover that gives it a bit more flair than many of its entry-level rivals design-wise, with gold, rose gold, and gray being its color options. Additionally, its 8GB memory extendable by up to 64GB hits just the right target for a model in this Android class.
At the end of the day, the BLU Dash XL does not offer anything special when it comes to pros and cons, but for those in search of a rather all-around introductory-class Android phone, this modest 5.5-incher potentially does the trick.
