BLU Grand M2 Review & Pros And Cons

To put it bluntly, there is nothing grand about BLU's Grand M2 when it comes to technical pros and cons. In fact, it resembles a lot of 2017-released low-end smartphones, with a prehistoric 3G-only network connectivity and a 5.2-inch 854 x 480 (FWVGA) 188ppi display leading its disgruntling specs.

It is powered a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6580 processor and no more than 1GB of RAM , which were both rather ubiquitous in the starter-class Android department as we were penning this data-driven review. Additionally, its Mali-400 graphics processor is one of the lowest-end GPUs on the market -- some of its BLU siblings are rigged with the more-advanced -- if only slightly -- Mali-T720 graphics engine.

Although riddled with a bunch of low-class cons, the BLU Grand M2 also has its pros, one of which is its 2600mAh battery capacity , which not only outstrips its Grand M predecessor's mere 2200mAh capacity, but also passes the 2500mAh sweet spot for 2017 introductory Androids. Additionally, it features twin (front-and-back) 5-megapixel cameras, both with their own dedicated LED flashes. Its front cam is particularly interesting, since not many models in this class feature front-firing LED flashes .

Also part of the Grand M2's pros and cons are a so-so (by 2017 measures) 8GB internal memory and an up-to-64GB microSD card support. There are lots of 480p-display models with only 4GB of native storage to play around with, though, so its 8GB inbuilt memory is not that big of a drawback. The Grand M2 is fitted with a metal housing married to a curved glass touch panel up front , with Red and Rose Gold being a couple of its color options. Being unlocked could wind up as a slight draw for entry-level shoppers as well, although it's by no means a standout, especially versus the wide range of budget-tier unlocked Androids that target a similar pragmatic clientele.

Summing up, the BLU Grand M2 obviously does not live up to the grandeur of its moniker, but it does have some treats for Android newbies looking for an above-average battery power and an appreciable selfie camera.
