BLU Grand M2 LTE Pros & Cons Review

Despite adding LTE connectivity (A no-brainer by 2017 standards, really) to the original Grand M2's mix of pros and cons, the BLU Grand M2 LTE still drops the ball on many aspects, consequently making us scratch our heads as to why it even took up the Grand mantle in the first place. Its biggest setbacks come in the form of a 5.2-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) 188ppi IPS display as well as the mundane combination of a 1.1GHz MediaTek 6737 quad-core processor and a meager 1GB-only RAM . It does, however, come with a Mali-T720 graphics processor , which is a slightly-speedier mutation of the Mali-400 GPUs used by many of its unlocked BLU siblings .

The Grand M2 LTE's specs also include an uninspiring 5-megapixel rear-facing main camera that only captures HD-720p videos at best -- a lot of similarly-specked models support a Full HD (1080p) maximum video-recording resolution. That said, it does come with a secondary 5-megapixel camera up front for selfies, which is equipped with its own front-firing LED light . In comparison, predecessors like the Grand M settle for hideous 3.2- or 2-megapixel front-facing cameras, which few entry-level shoppers would bat an eye over.

Probably its best selling point, the Grand M2 LTE comes with 2600mAh's worth of power , which is obviously more-favorable than the roughly-2000mAh power caps offered by most of its low-class contemporaries. Additionally, considering that we still saw 4GB-only-memory smartphones as we were reviewing its pros and cons, its 8GB internal storage ends up as a slight pro in our book. It also supports 64GB of external memory.

Holding everything in place is the M2 LTE's metal frame and curved glass touch panel , with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS greeting users from the get-go. So, while the addition of a 4G LTE network reach is appreciable, just like its 3G-only sibling, the Grand M2 LTE still caters to smartphone newbies who are in search of a respectable introductory Android phone.
