This smartphone sports two 5-megapixel cameras, with one each on its front and rear. However, these two shooters -- in spite of having similar resolutions -- stand at different levels compared to those of the BLU Grand X's peers. Comparatively-speaking, the main camera is one of the least impressive in its subcategory 
, where 8-megapixel sensors abound. The front-facing cam, on the other hand, is at the higher end of the spectrum of what current low-end phones offer 
-- much to the delight of selfie fans on a budget. The runaway upside here is that an LED flash makes an appearance on both sides .
Made of curved glass , its screen is bestowed with a 1280 x 720 resolution. This isn't bad for a low-tier device, especially since this produces a relatively-clearer 294DPI when combined with its being five inches across the diagonal.
Its 2200mAh battery is a bit small compared to what many of the competition offer. This may either be simply a cost-cutting move from BLU, or a step undertaken to preserve its sleekness. After all, the aesthetic value brought by its aircraft-grade aluminum finish may be hard to compromise.

As for hardware pros and cons, its 1.3GHz clock speed is enticing -- considering that this is the category-average across all phones as of this article's writing (and the BLU Grand X is definitely not anywhere near the average in terms of market range).

The rest of its specs, like its 8GB local storage, 1GB RAM, and 8.7mm thickness, are all pretty much standard for a phone of its stature.
As shown by these pros and cons, the BLU Grand X seems to sit on that sweet spot for a phone that's basic -- but not too basic. It definitely is a simple phone with mostly-standard specs, but with a few bonuses -- such as the pleasant exterior and relatively-good clock speed -- here and there.
