BLU Joy Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

The BLU Joy is a 2016-released basic bar phone that tries to bring simple mobile joys to its senior clientele, in the form of a dedicated SOS button for emergencies and a double-LED flashlight with its own dedicated button -- most of its rivals have single-LED lights in comparison.

Looking past those pros, it comes with some miserable -- yet typical in this phone class -- cons, including a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 65K-color screen and a primitive VGA or 0.3-megapixel camera . It also only works with GSM bands , while a few comparable models support 3G UMTS networks. Its 1400mAh battery power sounds more than sufficient for its specs, though, considering that plenty of candybars on the market don't even reach the 1000mAh mark.

With a leather back pattern adding a rarely-seen touch of luxury to elderly-oriented phones, BLU's Joy's mix of pros and cons makes it likely serve as a handy mobile companion for aging users.
