HTC Butterfly Pros & Cons Review

Picture of the HTC Butterfly, by HTC

The Butterfly packs many power-features similar to its close cousin Droid DNA (HTC's flagship quad-core smartphone). It boasts a big 5-inch display with a 1020p HD resolution and a quad-core CPU. However, it seems that this device does not support LTE connectivity (HTC's website made no mention of it).

On-paper Review score:

Pros:

Huge screen:

The screen is big, making it a phablet: 5.0 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels means about 10.68 square inches and an image sharpness of at least 440.37 dots per inch (DPI)!

Interesting onboard memory:

The HTC Butterfly boasts lots of user memory (16000MB), but it may sometimes be better to buy a phone with an included memory card instead, since the memory card can then be reused in a future cell phone.

Interesting camera:

Above-average camera resolution - of 8-megapixel - with these features: auto focus, LED flash, and BSI sensor (for better low-light captures), Continuous shooting, Smart Flash, Sightseeing mode, Video stabilization, Slow motion.

Special characteristics:

It offers the following special features: Accelerometer, Digital Compass, NFC, Proximity Sensor, Wi-Fi Direct

Average front cam:

The selfie cam resolution seems just about average.

HDMI connector:

The HDMI port will be useful to watch HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) videos recorded with the HTC Butterfly on an HDTV (HDMI cable might be sold separately).

Cons:

Unknown weight:

It's disappointing that we could not find its weight information.
