HTC Desire 555 Review of Pros And Cons

The HTC Desire 555 is one of HTC's more-budget-class offerings. This status is clearly manifested in the quality of its processor. With a four-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 CPU that runs at only 1.1GHz , it's obvious that demanding multitaskers won't find this device pleasing to work with. HTC makes up (or attempts to, at least) for this deficiency by equipping the 555 with 2GB of RAM , which is a promising figure for a device of its price range.

Joining these performance-related pros and cons is its noteworthy display. Being five inches across the diagonal and having a resolution of 1280-by-720 pixels , it's not mind-blowing in any sort of way -- but compared to many of its rivals, it's quite a preferable spec in terms of final pixel density .

Adding to its list of pros is the Desire 555's noticeably-low SAR ratings. At 0.247w/kg for body-worn operation , 0.196w/kg for head-based wear , and 0.394w/kg in terms of hotspot measurements , it's a promising pick for the extra-safety-conscious.

As for its battery, it only has 2200mAh's worth of juice to spare . This may come out as less-problematic if the power (or lack thereof) of its 32-bit processor is considered, but it's still nonetheless an unimpressive number.

Knowing this about its battery, it's a wonder how it managed to pack in 0.33 inches' worth of thickness . This much depth just demotes the Desire 555's aesthetic qualities even more -- seeing that it's already quite plain-looking in its design.

The HTC Desire 555 may not have the best-looking set of pros and cons out there, but its specs do give it more personality. To summarize, its good points include its RAM, display, and safety features, but it comes up short in its processor and battery. With that said, it's probably not for discriminating Android fans, but it's a promising pick for newbies and low-key users alike.
