HTC Windows Phone 8S Pros And Cons Review

Picture of the HTC Windows Phone 8S, by HTC

The HTC Windows Phone 8S might not be as good as the bigger 8X, but it does have plenty to offer, such as a 1000Mhz dual-core CPU, a 5-megapixel camera, and a 4-inch Super LCD display. It is noteworthy, however, that this phone seems to have 3G data only.

Cons (or Not-so-great Features):

Ostensibly no HDMI plug:

We're delighted that the HTC Windows Phone 8S can record fancy 1280 x 720 videos, but we're surprised we didn't find any sign of the Windows Phone 8S sporting an HDMI port (which comes in handy to watch HD videos on your shiny HDTV without having to move them first to your computer).

Less-popular OS:

The operating system (OS), Windows Phone 8, is not yet as widespread as Android or the iPhone's OS (iOS). Therefore, be warned that there won't be as many apps available for this phone.

SAR rating info not found:

We were unable to find SAR (radiation level) information for this phone.

Just a TFT?:

TFT displays are ok (they used to be the best option), but in such a high-end phone, we prefer AMOLED, or even SuperAMOLED displays, known for their brightness in sunlight, richer contrast and lower energy consumption.

Unknown weight:

It's disappointing that we were not able to find information about its weight.

Now, the Pros:

Other notable features:

It has the following special features: Data Tethering, G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor

** This phone is also known as: HTC 8S
