The vivid colors of the Huawei W2 are definitely pretty, but its features are rather dull exactly what one might expect of a basic smartphone. Thankfully, there have been some welcome improvements from its ancestor, the Ascend W1: Its Snapdragon 400 processor is midlevel, but at 1.4 GHz, it clocked a higher speed than the W1's 1.2. Its display was upgraded to 4.3 inches (W1 only had 4 inches), and it is less bulky (.39-inch thin) than the W1 (.41). Both still have a paltry 512 MB of RAM, but the W2 has 8 GB of memory as opposed to the W1's 4 GB. The rest of the specs were mostly retained, but we were surprised to notice that the newer phone has a weaker battery power at 1700 mAh (W1 had 1950 mAh) and reports a shorter talk time (395 hours to the W1's 460).
