Kyocera Brigadier Pros And Cons Review

Picture of the Kyocera Brigadier, by Kyocera

Perhaps a key selling point of the Brigadier is the array of Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) apps packed inside the usual rugged (IP68, 810G) design from Kyocera. We were also quite intrigued at the Sapphire Shield display technology and the Glove&Wet touch feature, both of which seem to breath fresh air into their rugged phone line. It will likely find a place among mid- to high-specked Androids with its quad-core engine, 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel (with HDR) snapper and 16GB on-board storage (expandable to up to 32GB). It makes us wonder why Kyocera did not go for a fully high-end spec sheet, given its obvious focus on a corporate clientele. But we appreciate that they went as far down the workplace concept as to include a special sound-boosting system (Smart Sonic) and make the Brigadier noincendive class 1 (division 2) in order to prevent, for instance, causing explosions when working near flammable gases.
