Kyocera DuraXV Plus Pros & Cons Review

Picture of the Kyocera DuraXV Plus, by Kyocera

- Analysis by KJ David

Despite being way bulkier compared to the majority of other flip phones -- 160g heavy and 25.1mm thick -- the DuraXV+ packs a grittier-than-usual mix of pros and cons, making it fit for hazardous work environments and outdoor activities.

Its key pros include a dedicated Push-to-Talk Plus (PTT button , the Smart Sonic Receiver technology , and, obviously, a rugged shock- and waterproof shell -- with a non-slip Dura-Grip rubber . It also features a 5-megapixel autofocus camera , with a no-camera alternative for workplaces that prohibit it.

Simply put, the DuraXV+ is a rugged flip phone that is more about being tough than being artsy.
