Kyocera Hydro Life Pros And Cons Review

Picture of the Kyocera Hydro Life, by Kyocera

First things first: the lack of LTE connectivity is pretty disturbing, considering that Hydro models older than the Hydro Life offer it! Anyway, Kyocera still managed to pack IP57-certification (water and dust-proof) as well as an 810G shock-resistant casing to this KitKat-run smartphone. It also has the same 4.5-inch qHD display as the 2014 Hydro Vibe. The Smart Sonic Receiver (for call clarity) and MaxiMZR (for power-saving) technologies were no surprises as well. It slightly falls off on imaging power with only a 5-megapixel snapper (the Kyocera Hydro Vibe has 8 megapixels) and 3G data rates, but perhaps those minor cutbacks make the Hydro Life a more affordable rugged Android.
