Picture of the LG G6, by LG

The first 2017 flagship phablet of LG, the G6 offers a mixed set of specs, most of which seem to be promising, while some do not. Its pros and cons list is topped with dual 13-megapixel rear cameras , which are accompanied by a dual LED flash and Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF). It goes with two 13-megapixel cameras instead of a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel rear camera combination that its predecessor (the LG G5) had. Its selfie camera (5-megapixel) somehow downgraded in comparison with the G5's 8-megapixel selfie snapper.

It is a bit thicker than some phablets, having a 7.9mm thickness . The G6 lies somewhere in the middle, battery-wise. It has a 3300mAh battery , which is just in between the Pixel XL's 3450mAh battery and the iPhone 7's 2900mAh power source.

Thinnest Phones

The G6's 5.7-inch IPS display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is also used for many other phones. Its 2560 x 1440 (QHD display resolution is similar to that of the Huawei Note 8 and the Google Pixel XL (The Google Pixel XL seems to have the best pixel-per-inch rating of the three, as it has the same resolution and smallest display size). The LG G6 slightly enlarges the G5's 5.3-inch screen to a 5.7 inches, having the biggest display among its siblings, as of March 2107.

Phablets And Large Smartphones

Under the hood, the LG G6 is home to a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor . Half of its cores score a 2.3GHz clock rate, while the other half (2) reach a 1.6GHz processor speed. It comes with 64GB of memory and a 3GB RAM, which could have been improved upon, keeping in mind that some flagship phablets offer a 4GB RAM and 128GB (or more) of memory.

Concluding the LG G6's pros and cons review, the phablet's pros outweigh its cons by a huge margin. It can be said that it targets users who are looking for high-end specs and a big screen.
