Though one of the first budget-class LG models to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box , the LG K8 fails to deliver on several other fronts.
Its cons include a 1.3GHz quad-core processor , which is obviously nothing new, as many lower-specked prepaid models have similar CPUs, though it does come with a 1.5GB RAM -- half a gig more than what most of its rivals offer. Its 5-inch In-cell display also settles for a 720-HD resolution , despite its relatively upscale 2.5D glass finish .
The K8 pros, on the flip side, include specs like LG's Knock Code , which, unlike conventional tapping patterns, allows up to eight tapping points. Its 5-megapixel selfie camera also comes with what LG calls front wheel light photography , which is really just a fancy term for artificial flash. That said, the K8's pros and cons remain within the entry- to mid-end market.
