Considering its price, we don't expect this mid-range smartphone to tick all the boxes on our features wishlist. But, with 4G LTE support and a 1.2GHz processor on top of its pros list, we think that it is sufficiently-equipped for casual internet browsing , light gaming, and video streaming. We liked that this device includes LG's patented Knock Code security feature as well as a Gesture Shutter (an open hand activates the feature and a closed fist starts the three-second timer). Powering this device is a removable 2100mAh battery that promises up to 11 hours of talk time, which is par for the course for a mid-range handset. However, as one might naturally expect from a phone that costs less than a Benjamin, the LG Transpyre bears a number of cons that are hard to overlook, including its low-resolution (5MP front, 1.3MP rear) cameras and its lackluster (800 x 480 pixels) screen which we would even categorize as entry-level by today's standards. Overall, the LG Transpyre looks decent on paper for a budget smartphone, but unless LG throws in a better display and camera soon, we don't see it enjoying a long shell life.
