Finally something noteworthy outside of LG's usual Optimus series. We were surprised that the LG Volt, a phone geared mostly towards low-cost prepaid carriers, pulled off a 1.2GHz quad-core processor , 4G LTE connectivity and a 3000mAh battery (promising an up to 24-hour talk time). They even slapped on a BIS camera (8-megapixel) and a protective Corning Gorilla glass frame, which are standard features of some higher-end smartphones. But LG did not fail to boast some features of their own, retaining their signature 8-point Knock Code, Guest Mode and Qslide tools.
But here stop the pros, because a few cons also made us sad: The sub HD display is so yesterday with its 960 x 540 resolution with a dpi of only 234.15, making the 4.7-inch display a tad less interesting -- and the 1GB RAM is, by today's standards, minimalistic , especially considering that this high-voltage thing is going to proudly run Android 4.4. The LG Volt and its mixed pros and cons might not be a threat to premium smartphones, but they may definitely overthrow some mid-level Androids.
