The most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone from Nokia (according to their website) surprisingly includes some pretty decent specs: A dual-core CPU, a 5-megapixel camera, and a super sensitive 4-inch touchscreen. As expected, the manufacturer had to cut some corners, thus we noted the absence of features we would normally expect in a modern smartphone, like a front-facing camera and 4G technology.
On-paper Star rating: 
It is all very well that the Nokia Lumia 520 can record fancy 1280 x 720 clips, but we're surprised we didn't find any sign of the Lumia 520 sporting an HDMI port (which comes in handy to watch HD videos on your shiny HDTV without having to move them first to your computer).

The Nokia Lumia 520 doesn't come with an included memory card but it supports up to 64 GB of memory expansion, which will be convenient to save videos and pictures shot with the included 5-megapixel camera.
It features a large user memory (8000MB), but it may sometimes be better to buy a phone with an included memory card instead, since the memory card can then be reused in a future cell phone.
