As with most value smartphones, the Plum Compass makes a case for itself by banking on a very specific set of specs, all while compromising with less-promising figures for the rest.
For one, its 8-megapixel rear shooter is promising for its price range, but its 2-megapixel selfie-taking counterpart fails to impress . To add, it doesn't have the added bonus of a front-facing LED flash , which is an increasingly-spreading attraction among budget phones.
Its 5-inch display, combined with the 1280-pixel by 720-pixel resolution, also makes it stand out versus similar models. However, this promising display is backed up by a weak-sounding 2000mAh battery , which makes the Compass an unlikely choice for users who are on their phones for most of the day.
When it comes to performance pros and cons, the Compass banks on a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU to run its processes. Although unimpressive in general, such a spec can already be considered a pro in its market category. In exchange for this, Plum has chosen to cut back on RAM -- equipping the Compass with only 1GB in this remark .

This phone probably won't please hardcore users, either. This is because its 9.8mm-thick body and almost 169 grams' worth of weight make it a challenge to handle. Both dimensions are above the average across all phones, which is surprising, given the Compass' low-key specs.

Every phone has its own pros and cons, and the Plum Compass can't really be faulted for sacrificing some specs in favor another. As such, if battery, handiness, and selfie camera specs are of utmost importance to you, then we deem it best for you to steer clear.
