Samsung C9 Pro Pros & Cons Review

The C9 Pro is highlighted as Samsung's first smartphone with 6GB of RAM . With this, it sells itself to steadfast multitaskers (or those who may simply be allergic to lagging). In spite of this enticing spec, potential buyers are left to wrestle with the thought of it having a max clock speed of only 1.95GHz , courtesy of an octa-core Snapdragon 653. It's not an underwhelming speed, but it certainly isn't the best in the market to which it belongs.

This six-inch phablet is -- as of this article's writing -- the biggest smartphone in the Galaxy C series in terms of screen size. But with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (an at least QHD display would have been a better fit ), it's left with an unimpressive 367DPI pixel density .

In terms of raw resolution, the main camera sits somewhere in the middle of recent semi-high-end offerings. At 16-megapixels, it isn't as lofty as, say, the 23-megapixel Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra, but it fares better than the Motorola Moto G5 Plus, or even the iPhone 7. It is one of the frontrunners when it comes to the 16-megapixel selfie cam nestled on the front, though.

It also has pros and cons, physically. It's worth noting that the Samsung C9 Pro sits on the heavier side at 188 grams . Provided that this phone is marketed heavily towards hardcore smartphone users, the idea of lugging around a heavy device all day is not at all exciting. However, what it lacks in lightness it makes up for in thinness, as its 6.9mm-thin body is quite appealing . For some context, it is a full millimeter thinner compared to the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017, which is one of its most comparable cousins.

We end this pros and cons list with its battery. With 4000mAh's worth of power , it's nice to see a fuel pack that has a really clear shot at potentially keeping up with the machine.

As these specs show, this smartphone looks hard at work to prove itself worthy of the "pro" moniker, having a RAM and a battery that both look solid on paper. With the exception of the unimpressive display quality and worrying weight, the rest of its specs (or at least most of them) seem pretty decent at worst.
