The Galaxy A9 (2016), announced on December 2015, is one of Samsung's earliest high-end 2016 releases.

Its pros and cons include a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass finish , though it would have been a nice venue for a 2K (Quad HD) definition . Its 13-megapixel OIS camera also settles for a Full HD video capacity , despite Samsung having played with 4K video capture on several older models. That said, its 8-megapixel front-facing sub-cam might be enough to reel in a good number of selfie fanatics.

A few other pros can be found in the A9's relatively fresh hardware, consisting of a Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor (1.8GHz + 1.2GHz) , a 3GB RAM , and a 4000mAh power capacity . Additionally, its 32GB built-in memory can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD -- something that many 2015 high-enders forgo. Lastly, it offers a fingerprint scanner . So, all-in-all, this 2016 phablet surely lands on high-end shelves, but it falls short of being a premium Android.
