The Ace 2 is clearly superior to the original Ace on specifications. It is a wonder, however, why Samsung decided to put Android 2.3 Gingerbread on this device, especially with the availability of the newer Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Even though an update might be available later, we prefer to have it preloaded with the latest version of the OS.
On-paper Review rating:
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 can record fancy (1280 x 720 pixels) video clips. Great! But we couldn't determine whether it had an HDMI port or not. Granted, HDMI (which lets you connect to your HDTV), is not an absolute necessity, but it seems like a desirable feature on an HD phone.

TFT displays are fine (they used to be the finest of the finest), but in such an advanced phone, we would expect AMOLED, or even SuperAMOLED displays, known for their better brightness in sunlight, richer contrast and lower energy consumption.
It's frustrating that we could not find its weight information.
