Samsung Galaxy Discover Review of The Pros And Cons

Picture of the Samsung Galaxy Discover, by Samsung

The Galaxy Discover covers the basics of an entry-level smartphone: Bluetooth, a MicroSD card slot, a 3-megapixel camera, and Wi-Fi. Its 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM are low-end as we suspected given its price range. Overall, it features what we expected to find in a budget smartphone. We just wish Samsung included a few surprises, like 4G LTE or perhaps a bigger camera.

First, the Cons:

Minimal battery power:

According to Phonerated, 1300mAh is not enough for a smartphone with a 3.5-inch display.

Smaller touch screen:

We hope you don't have big hands, since the Galaxy Discover's touch screen has a smaller display surface to press on than many other smartphones. According to our calculations, it has a 5.65 square inch-display while

Just a TFT?:

TFT displays are fine (they used to be the finest of the finest), but in such an advanced phone, we would expect AMOLED, or even SuperAMOLED displays, known for their better brightness in sunlight, richer contrast and lower energy consumption.

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we were not able to find information about its weight.

Pros:

Nice battery life:

Samsung claims that the Samsung Galaxy Discover delivers 540 minutes of talk time. If that figure is accurate, it will be a great plus.
