The 2016 Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini takes the low-end route by listing cons like a 4-inch TFT 262K-color display , a 1500mAh battery , and a 5-megapixel camera with no flash nor autofocus among its specs. Moreover, it is not compatible with 4G networks , which was a deal-breaking setback as of its release, and sports noting but a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Lastly, it runs on an all-too-common 1.2GHz quad-core CPU alongside an unimpressive 0.75GB RAM .

As for its pros, the J1 Mini comes with an 8GB inbuilt memory (many other 4-inchers settle for 4GB), which you can expand by up to 128GB via its microSD card slot -- a good mismatch, considering its overall selection of pros and cons.

In conclusion, however, this J1 edition is nothing more than a starter-class Android, or a least one geared to be a secondary handset.
