Though we would have loved a Full HD 1080p resolution (instead of HD-720p) on its 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen, this 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy J5 is a passable mid-tier Android phone nevertheless.

It comes with a 3100mAh battery capacity , which is an enhancement over the 2015 model's 2600mAh capacity. Additionally, it bumped up the 1.5GB RAM to 2GB , though it brought back the basic 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 CPU as well. That being said, it also delivers its predecessor's 13-megapixel f/1.9-aperture Full-HD-video primary camera , while a 5-megapixel selfie cam with a frontal LED light and Beauty Mode sits atop its display. Topping it off is a 16GB memory that can be expanded by up to 128GB .

In the end, though its specs make for an unsurprising mid-level mix of pros and cons, the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 obviously moves Samsung's J5 model forward.
