Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Pros And Cons Review

Picture of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, by Samsung

- Analysis by KJ David

A few months shy of the Galaxy S5's release, Samsung takes the high-spec S4 and wraps it up in a water-resistant casing to come up with the Galaxy S4 Active. This variant offers pretty much the same mix of high-level features: 2600mAh battery, 1.9GHz quad-core processor and a 5-inch display on full 1920x1080 resolution. Although the new Aqua Mode (which allows underwater picture-taking) sounds appealing, the cut-back on main camera power might have not been necessary (S4:13-megapixel, S4 Active:8-megapixel). IP67 dust-and-water resistance make for the obvious difference, but keep in mind that this does not make it a full-blown rugged phone. It does, though only slightly, make it larger and heavier than the original. So if you want a taste of the S4 with an extra layer of safety, the S4 Active in Dive Blue might find you well.
