Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Review of The Pros And Cons

Picture of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, by Samsung

Two things about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom made us pull up short: the 10x optical zoom on its 16-megapixel camera, and the bulky design that makes it look like a camera with an included phone rather than the usual opposite. It appears to be a sequel to the Galaxy S4 that improved its camera features (the S4 Zoom has 16 megapixels and the S4 has 13) at the expense of its computing (and other) capabilities. Its dual core 1.5GHz processor is slower than the S4's 1.9GHz quad core processor, its 2330mAh battery is not as powerful as the S4's 2600mAh one, and its 4.3-inch Super Amoled screen lags behind the S4's 5-inch HD Super Amoled display. Its RAM is also 500MB less than the 2GB RAM of the S4. For sure, these features are nothing to sneeze at, but compared to those of other high-end phones, they are nothing to write home about either. But mama will be impressed by the camera, for sure.
