Samsung R455C Review of Pros And Cons

Picture of the Samsung R455C, by Samsung

The extra-separated keys of Samsung R455C's QWERTY keyboard are claimed to make typing Emails or SMS more convenient (not to mention that it also sports a 3x4 keypad, should you not want to use the full keyboard). Other features, however, are low-end and not that impressive: A 1.3-megapixel camera and 2.4-inch display. Furthermore, it does not seem to include Wi-Fi.

On-paper Review rating:

First, the Cons:

Lower your expectations:

Curb your enthusiasm. This is only a very simple phone.

Almost stone-age camera:

A 1.3-megapixel is barely enough to make decent pictures, particularly that many free or low-priced camera phones have higher-resolution cameras.

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we were not able to find information about its weight.

And Now, the Pros:

Incredibly low radiation level:

It has a SAR rating of only 0.44 w/kg, on a scale of 0 to 1.60 w/kg. Phones with such a low SAR rating are exceptional

Physical slide-out keyboard:

Of course, we like the real, physical keyboard.

Basic camera but decent options:

Though the 1.3-megapixel camera is only basic, it at least offer a few advanced control options, such as: Shot types (Single, Series, Mosaic), Resolution, Quality (Superfine, Fine, Normal), White balance (Auto, Sunny, Cloudy, Tungsten or Fluorescent), Night shot, Self timer, Color effects (Normal, Black&White, Sepia, Negative, Green, and Aqua), Brightness
