Sonim Bolt 2 Pros & Cons Review

Picture of the Sonim Bolt 2, by Sonim

- Analysis by KJ David

The Sonim Bolt 2 unbolts some delicate basic phone features in exchange for a more outdoorsy set of pros and cons. It classifies itself as an ultra-rugged phone, sporting a drop-ready (MIL SPEC-810G), waterproof (IP68), and scratch-resistant (Gorilla Glass display) exterior . Sonim also bolts on their GPS-based Protect Lone Worker app , allowing you to quickly alert a response center during emergencies. The brand's 3-year comprehensive warranty is in the mix, too.

That said, the Bolt 2 does come with several loose ends, including its 185g weight and 256MB/128MB memory/RAM combo . However, these should not be of much concern to long-haul drivers or construction personnel (and the like), which are its target users in the first place.

** This phone is also known as: Sonim XP-5560, Sonim 2 Bolt
