- Analysis by KJ David
As made clear by its name, the SpareOne Emergency Phone (3G) is an emergency handset that never has to charge up, because it runs on two AA lithium batteries . Also, while it does not sport a screen nor any camera , which are staple specs in the mobile world, this simple device comes with a Locate and Alert button that calls up five personally-set guardians during emergencies.
This SpareOne handset also features a glow-in-the-dark keypad , a panic siren , and a flashing LED function that asks for help in Morse code . It works with 2G GSM and 3G UMTS networks and comes with an M3/T4 hearing certification .
All said, its array of pros and cons might sound a bit odd, but we think the Emergency Phone knows what it's about.
