Xiaomi Mi 5S Pros & Cons Review

Xiaomi redesigns their Mi 5 flagship with this S-version, which still lugs 4GB's worth of RAM , but comes with a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 2.15GHz quad-core processor . Oddly, though, it settles for a 12-megapixel-only camera resolution this time (The original Mi 5 rocks a 16-megapixel shooter), which would have been a huge con, if not for its 4K-2160p video-recording capability .

Display-wise, even though it sounds like a good venue for a Quad HD interface , the Mi 5S takes after the plain model with its 5.15-inch Full HD screen, however, with a 600nit brightness and a 428ppi , it suggests a flagship smartphone notwithstanding. Another thing this version brought back is the Mi 5's relatively-low-resolution 4-megapixel selfie camera that has a favorable 2-micron pixel size .

As for the rest of its pros and cons, the Mi 5S comes with a mere 3200mAh battery power , which shrinks in comparison to what a few other 4GB-RAM smartphones boast, and forgoes a microSD card slot . That said, its 128GB inbuilt memory (a 64GB version is also offered) sounds more-than-sufficient to us. Fingerprint recognition and a USB Type-C port join its specs as well.

Overall, though some of its upmarket target buyers may find the Xiaomi Mi 5S's drawbacks upsetting, many of them will likely find this MIUI-8-sporting phone respectable.
