Apparently also known as the Mi A1, Xiaomi's Mi 5X is bound for the high-end Android market -- that is what its assortment of pros and cons tells us, at least.

To start with, it boasts twin 12-megapixel cameras at the back . Unless you've been living under a rock, you would know that dual-lens camera systems were all the rage when the Mi 5X came out, so it's only fitting for a high-class contender to offer the forenamed pro. Ultra HD (aka 4K-2160p) video-recording and a dual-LED flash are on board as well. Having said that, the Mi 5X passes on a mixture of multiple autofocus types , only coming with phase-detection focusing. Additionally, its imaging prowess is tainted by a 5-megapixel-only selfie camera , which is obviously rather modest, when pitted against some selfie smartphones' 13-megapixel-and-higher frontal cams.

Looking at its specs beyond the imaging department, the Xiaomi Mi 5X comfortably supports its dual rear cameras with an octa-core Snapdragon 625 64-bit processor running at 2GHz , which, even though does not run as fast as the eight-core engines of some of the fastest Android phones, packs a heavy-enough punch to us, especially with 4GB of RAM tagging along. Its 3080mAh battery capacity sounds decent as well, although we would have loved to see somewhere around the 4000mAh threshold , if only to place it a full level higher than lower-specked mid-range devices. Storage is not one of its strong suits as well, coming in with only 64GB (or 32GB) of native storage that feels rather unambitious given the rest of its pros and cons. Moreover, it could have reached for a 256GB maximum microSD card support , instead of settling for 128GB memory cards.

The Mi 5X also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for user authentication , which, though already considered a norm when it came out, is a pro nonetheless. It greets users with a tolerable 5.5-inch LTPS Full HD (1920 x 1080) display , while a metal casing coated in either Black, Gold, or Rose Gold covers the rest of its body.

In essence, though its unambitious display and storage capacity may put some buyers off, Xiaomi's 2017 Mi 5X nevertheless targets photography enthusiasts with its double-rear-camera technology and 4GB RAM.
