Just like the original Redmi 3, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S's biggest con is its 5-inch HD-720p-only display , which is quite underwhelming, considering that it runs on a 1.4GHz + 1.1GHz Snapdragon 430 split-eight-core processor and comes with a large 4100mAh battery . It also apparently does not offer an FM radio , which is a standard feature across all phone categories.

The Redmi 3S upgrades its base model's 2GB RAM to 3GB and doubles up the memory from 16GB to 32GB . It also adds a circular fingerprint sensor right under its 13-megapixel primary camera. Adding to its favorable specs is a 5-megapixel BSI-sensor selfie cam , promising more-effective low-light shooting than others in this class.

To rehash, the Redmi 3S's assortment of pros and cons introduce a few upgrades over the original model, but it finds itself within the same mid- to high-end market.
