ZTE Blade Max View Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

The ZTE Blade Max View is a sister phone to the Blade Max 2s (both phones were unveiled by ZTE at around the same time) whose biggest pro over its sibling is its dual-lens primary camera , which is made up of a 16-megapixel Sony-IMX351-sensor primary lens and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing deputy lens. The main cam comes with a 5P lens and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Apart from making the Max View sound more promising versus the Max 2s, which settles for a standard 13-megapixel single-lens cam, the said dual rear cam also calls up Phonerated's list of the best phones for photography -- most models in this list tout multiple-lens cameras as well.

That being said, this Blade model suffers from roughly similar cons as the Max 2s, one of which is its underwhelming 1.4GHz octa-core processor (It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chip), which, at the very least, comes with 3GB's worth of accompanying RAM, instead of the other model's measly 2GB capacity.

Its specs also include a 32GB internal memory that was no longer that impressive at the time of this technical review, at least coming from a middle-class phone. Nevertheless, storage does not seem to be that big of a problem for the Max View, seeing as it supports a whopping 2TB's worth of memory expansion , which obviously sets it apart most other 2018 releases with tantamount pros and cons.

When it comes to stamina, the Max View's 4000mAh battery sounds more than satisfactory (Check out some of the best big-battery smartphones here), especially since it scores a 20-hour maximum talk time that was over 40 percent higher than the corresponding average as we were writing this analysis.

The rest of its features include a not-so-competitive, yet not-that-depressing 8-megapixel selfie camera as well as the Dolby Atmos audio technology . Just like the Max 2s, this Blade model also touts a 6-inch 18:9 IPS display sitting on a 2160 x 1080 Full HD+ resolution, with 4G LTE Cat 6 connectivity joining in as well.

So, as revealed by its pros and cons, the Blade Max View could have done better in terms of hardware, but its robust battery and 2TB microSD card slot still makes it worth a look.
