ZTE Nubia Z9 mini Pros & Cons Review

Picture of the ZTE Nubia Z9 mini, by ZTE

- Analysis by KJ David

This lesser-specked mini version's array of pros and cons may not be as advanced as the original Nubia Z9's, but it has a couple of high-end tricks up its sleeve notwithstanding.

The mini replaces the Z9's Snapdragon 810 CPU with a Snapdragon 615 64-bit eight-core engine, though the bigger concern would be the reduction of its RAM size from 3GB/4GB to 2GB . It also halves the 32GB memory down to 16GB , but tries to make up for it via an up-to-128GB microSD card slot -- something its mother model sadly lacked. Over on the imaging front, the mini preserves its base model's high-end 16- and 8-megapixel rear and front camera resolutions respectively, but forgoes 4K video capture for a more modest Full HD capacity.

Its feature and spec set also includes a 5-inch Full HD Gorilla Glass 3 display (slightly smaller than the Z9's) and a 2900mAh battery, topping it off as a viable mini alternative in our book.
