ZTE's Open C, as suggested by its series name, is a starter-class model that run on the open-source Firefox 1.3 operating system, which we would say is geared towards web app junkies more than first-time smartphone users. It allows users to switch to the Android platform in case they are not comfortable with Firefox, though.
Despite that, its pros and cons, consisting of a 512MB RAM , a 4-inch WVGA screen , and a 3-megapixel camera, still point to a starter-class shelf spot. It also lacks a frontal sub-cam -- an apparent deal-breaker at the height of the selfie fever.
Still, with its low-cost profile, the ZTE Open C might invite patronage from the Firefox niche market.
