Alcatel's 2016 Lume, though highly-unlikely to break the bank , is not as bright a smartphone as its name implies, with the lack of a front-facing camera and a tiny (by today's standards) 4-inch 800 x 480 WVGA display among its cons. Moreover, it relies on a sub-standard 1500mAh battery , which pales in comparison to many of its low-end rivals' roughly-2000mAh cells. It also only sports a 2-megapixel camera that at least delivers a bundle of Polaroid tools for quick photo-editing .
As for the Lume's other specs, its 1.3GHz quad-core engine comes off as a pro, considering that a lot of low-class 4-inchers run on dual-core chips only -- its mere 1GB RAM does not help it, though. It also offers dual-band 4G connectivity and comes with 8GB of on-board memory that can be extended by up to 32GB.
With a collection of pros and cons delivered in a pocket-friendly package, the Alcatel Lume targets those who want an unambitious, yet 4G-capable Android phone.
