The Huawei Honor 10 Lite, although unsurprisingly a less-ambitious version of its mother model (most Lite models shown here on Phonerated are reduced versions of originals), comes with a larger screen than the original Honor 10, at 6.21 inches -- its base model touts a 5.84-inch display. Furthermore, it upgrades the Honor 10's already-wide screen aspect ratio of 19:9 to 19.5:9, mimicking the screen solutions of some full-blown flagship phablets and leaving room for a bit more pixels. By the way, it offers a Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) screen definition.
Setting that pro on the display front aside, this Lite edition runs on a downgraded processor . While the Honor 10 uses a Kirin 970 engine that peaks at 2.36GHz, the Honor 10 Lite opts for a Kirin 710 chip clocking in at 2.2GHz only, lessening its chances at a spot alongside some of the most-popular eight-core phones around. That being said, this lower-specked model still boasts a massive 6GB maximum RAM count , with 4GB and 3GB variants, which are obviously for less-demanding users in terms of multimedia, being offered as well.
Another slight drawback lurking within its mix of pros and cons is its 13- plus 2-megapixel dual main camera , if only because it is a substantial downgrade over the Honor 10's 16- plus 24-megapixel dual camera system. That said, the Lite brings back its big brother's AI-powered image stabilization (AIS) technology and AI portrait shooting mode.
Fortunately, the Honor 10 Lite retains the original phone's high-resolution 24-megapixel selfie camera , which possibly plugs it into our list of the best smartphones for selfies. Its front cam is bedecked with features like AI scene recognition, Huawei's 4-in-1 light fusion technology, and 3D portrait lighting. A front-firing LED flash would have complemented its competitive selfie cam nicely , though.
Over on the battery department, we flagged the Lite's 3400mAh battery power as a minor con, since it sounds rather modest compared to the 4000mAh power caps offered by some models with roughly similar specs. Its feature set also includes either 64GB or 32GB of expandable memory and a typical (as of this technical review) rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
To rehash, when it comes to pros and cons, the Honor 10 Lite is a watered-down version of Huawei's Honor 10 flagship that manages to retain its predecessor's high-caliber selfie cam and deliver a wider screen.

We're dealing with a hefty display here, making it a phablet: 6.2 (actual diagonal is 6.21 inches) inches and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels means about 14.64 square inches and an image quality of at least 415.63 dots per inch (DPI)!
Above-average camera resolution - of 13-megapixel (combined with a 2-megapixel sub-cam) - with these features: AI portrait mode.
The 24-megapixel selfie cam offers an above-decent resolution.
