LG X Power 3 Review of Pros And Cons

Following the footsteps of its predecessors, this 2018 edition of the LG's X Power model offers a budget-class assortment of pros and cons powered by a sizable battery pack that could plug it into Phonerated's list of the best high-endurance smartphones -- we'll get to its battery further down this technical review.

Among its biggest drawbacks is the absence of NFC (Near Field Communication) on its specs list, considering that NFC was already a typical smartphone perk as of its 2018 market entry. It also does shoot for anything fancy processing-wise, settling for a dated 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and only 2GB of RAM , whereas some of its contemporaries run on basic octa-core engines -- check out some popular eight-core phones here.

Another slight con is its 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) 16:9 In-Cell display , if only because a lot of similarly-sized budget Androids tout Full HD (1080p) screens. Perched right above its screen is a run-of-the-mill 5-megapixel selfie camera .

The LG X Power 3's biggest pro comes in the form of a 4500mAh battery , which sounds benevolent, at least compared to the below-3000mAh capacities offered by most of its low-end competitors. It is aided by the QuickCharge 3.0 technology that promises to replenish 50 percent of its total battery capacity in 60 minutes.

Its selling points also include a 16GB memory coupled with a colossal 2TB external memory card slot , which we do not usually expect from a phone with its kind of low-class hardware pros and cons. Also, it sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles up as a Smart Rear Key , letting users capture photos without having to launch its camera app.

Above its fingerprint reader is a tolerable 13-megapixel main camera that captures FHD-1080p videos, while the DTS:X surround sound system and a 1W speaker take charge of its audio department. It comes with 4G LTE network support and it dons a Moroccan Blue finish.

Long story short, the X Power 3 is a budget-tier smartphone rigged with a large battery, obviously for power-hungry users.
