The Moto G5S Plus is a slightly-larger and higher-specked version of the G5S whose biggest pro is the step-up from its sibling's single 16-megapixel rear camera to a twin 13-megapixel camera setup , enabled for 4K-2160p video-recording as well as enhanced depth-of-field effects (with a depth editor pre-integrated) . Sure, the G5S has a higher maximum camera pixel resolution , but rocking the popular (as of its release) dual-lens camera technology definitely puts this Plus version on the high-end imaging radar. As for selfies, the it touts a pretty laid-back (resolution-wise) 8-megapixel frontal camera with a dedicated LED flash .

The rest of its pros and cons include a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) 401ppi Gorilla-Glass-3-protected screen powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that adds to its pluses over the plain G5S, which settled for a 1.4GHz eight-core engine. Joining its processor in the engine room is a 4GB (or 3GB) RAM and an Adreno 506 graphics engine clocked at 650MHz .

On power duties is a 3000mAh battery equipped with Motorola's own-branded TurboPower charging system, claiming to provide 6 hours of power in a 15-minute charge . While its 64GB (a 32GB version is offered as well) internal memory is not half bad, we see it as a slight con, considering that a good number of full-blown flagship models lug at least 128GB storage memories. That said, it does support memory expansion of up to 128GB. Intriguingly, the Moto G5S lacks NFC support , which has not only grown to be a standard smartphone facet, but also would have gone nicely with its multi-function fingerprint reader , largely for mobile micro-payments. Also among the G5S Plus's pros and cons are a familiar (for a Motorola high-ender) water-repellent nano-coating and LTE Cat 7 connectivity . It comes in either Lunar Gray or Blush Gold and it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
In review, though there were a few high-end specs that we did not see on the Motorola Moto G5S Plus, it sounds like a passable high-end purchase for the camera- and power-cautious upmarket shopper nevertheless.
