Geared towards users who want a good old call-and-text phone, either for the casual trips down memory lane or as a backup device to their smartphones, the Plum Tag 3G's cons are headlined by a mere 1.8-inch TFT screen that's minuscule, even by basic phone standards -- feel free to pit its screen versus those of the best basic phones in the US here. Adding some insult to injury is its ancient-sounding QQVGA (160 x 128) display resolution , especially since its basic candybar and flip phone rivals usually have 320 x 240 definitions.

Its underwhelming specs also include a 600mAh-only battery capacity and, consequently, a pitiful 3-hour-only continuous calling time (180 minutes) as well as a 150-hour maximum standby time . In contrast, many comparable call-and-text or senior phones found here at Phonerated boast significantly-higher battery scores.

Also part of this unlocked phone's assortment of pros and cons is the primitive combination of a 32MB RAM and a 32MB memory . That said, its 32GB maximum external memory allowance , which was not that common among basic and feature phones as of this on-paper review, sounds reassuring. Its forenamed microSD storage allowance is also fitting, since it comes with an inbuilt MP3 player alongside its standard FM radio.

The Tag 3G's appreciable features also include its dual SIM card slots (Check out the best dual-SIM phones here), which enables users to dedicate one SIM strictly for business and another one for personal use. Its dual-color finish (White-Black and Gold-Black being the two options) sounds like an understated pro as well, seeing that it separates the Tag 3G from most of its dull Black-finished rivals in this category.

Also part of its pros and cons is a so-so (in this phone category) 1.3-megapixel camera that's accompanied by a standard LED flash, which doubles up as the phone's torch function. Though imaging is obviously not a priority for phones of its kind, it is worth noting that a few of its contemporaries have higher camera resolutions -- somewhere along the lines of 3.2 or 5 megapixels, so it's safe to say that its camera is a slight drawback.

With all that said, the Plum Tag 3G is no more than an unlocked model for those who just want a cheap and simple bar-type phone.
