An upgrade over the UMIDIGI Z2, the Z2 Pro banks on similar quad-camera setup that possibly plugs it into Phonerated's list of the best phones for photography. Its main camera consists of a 16-megapixel primary lens and an 8-megapixel depth-sensing sub-lens, with a dual LED flash tagging along. Likewise, its dual front cam is made up of 16- and 8-megapixel lenses, although some selfie addicts might pull back at its lack of a front-firing LED flash .

Its cons also include the awkward absence of a 4K-2160p video-recording capability , which was a rather typical facet among high-class camera smartphones as of this specs-based review. Additionally, its wide 6.2-inch 19:9 display comes with a 1080p definition only , instead of shooting for a truly-high-end 1440p sharpness that would have put it alongside some of the best phablets out there.

As for its under-the-hood pros and cons, the Z2 Pro's Helio P60 2GHz + 2GHz dual-cluster eight-core engine is not quite flagship-caliber, seeing that it sounds unpromising, compared to the 2.5GHz (or faster) engines powering the fastest smartphones of its time. Note, though, that the forenamed chip is an upgrade over the Z2's 2GHz + 1.5GHz Helio P23 engine. Its CPU notwithstanding, the Z2 Pro levels with many 2018 high-end contenders with its 6GB RAM count , 800MHz Mali G72 MP3 graphics processor, and 128GB native memory expandable by up to 256GB .

When it comes to endurance, the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro weirdly drops from its Z2 sibling's 3850mAh battery power to only 3550mAh , although it now supports 15W wireless charging alongside a standard 18W fast-charging system.

Another key difference between the Z2 Pro and its Z2 little brother is that the former comes with fancier color options , namely Twilight (gradient), Carbon Fiber, and Luxury Ceramic. Rounding out its list of pros and cons are a circular fingerprint reader and the brand's Face Unlock feature.

All said, this large-screen Android caters to multimedia junkies and mobile photographers who do not mind dealing with a middle-class processor.
